One week each year, restaurants across the city showcase their best upcycled-ingredient dishes and drinks and tell great stories about the magic they’ve conjured. During RescueDishDC, you’ll encounter everything from carrot greens to ricotta made from leftover milk in a barista’s steamer pitcher.

About once a quarter, we head to a restaurant with a great sustainability story. Sometimes a chef speaks about maintaining a sustainable kitchen. Other times we just have a simple happy hour after work. Still other times, we might do something entirely different—check back for details on an upcoming cocktail hour and photo show!
